View Full Version : shingling the wrong way

Has anyone encountered Preps pushing the pages the wrong way. I have a job that I entered the inner amount a positive number, but after previewing, the pages were moving out, away from the gutter. Normally, we do the same thing and the pages move toward each other into the gutter.

Check your Preps template. The page information under 'additional settings' should show the shingling as relative to the binding edge.

If this is an odd style of template, where Preps might have problems determining the binding edge, you can force the shingling to be relative to the left, right, up, down for each individual page.

Shingling is applied to the pages according to the position in the run list.
Odd pages are moved to the left whilst even pages are moved to the right.

If you have a template where the odd pages in the run list are not the right hand pages, the shingling will move opposite to the expected direction.

This can occur if you have a template with a single sided cover. In this case, make the cover in a separate template, or add blank pages for the inside cover but don't print them
