View Full Version : Preps Scripting...

We've been using Preps Pro to generate a PPF cutting data PPF file for our Polar cutters (via its CompuCut software). I'd like to know if there is a way to automate the process of generating the PPF file in Preps through scripting or other means. Although I am using Preps Pro on a Windows-based PC, if someone has an AppleScript, that would work to....or if someone knows of another way...

Any information would be greatly appreciated! :-)

Many thanks,

There is plenty of job specific options for scripting on Mac. As Nikita Zubov points out there is no real options for scripting the creation of templates / signatures but in terms of printing you can print you can print to any supported output type. Here is a simple Applescript that will print a job as PPF using a specified device to a specific path.

set the outpath to "Macintosh HD"
tell application "Preps 5"
print the front job saving as PPF file saving in outpath to device "MyDevice"

end tell

Hope this helps you.

Can we hope for full scripting support in a future releases? For me it will be very usefull, especially for automatic creation of static marks.
