Colorized tif files InDesign CS

I have an InDesign CS1 file here with a grayscale tif that has both the tif and the picture box set to PMS 356. If I write a device independent postscript file for Trapwise the background color doesn't show in Trapwise at all, not even as a process build like it would from Quark if you include tif images in the PXT save box. I replaced the PMS with cyan as a test and the background color comes in. Is this a known issue? I can't recall ever having this problem in the past.

try saving out (Exporting) as an EPS instaed, ive found that alleviates a lot of the CS1 problems.
