Will Prepare be integrated in to Production Portal (InSite)

I had heard this was a possibility in years past, though was curious if it is still on the upgrade path and if so when that might be?

As I understand it, prepare has been killed and is no longer being supported. I have heard nothing about its functionality being added to InSite.
