View Full Version : Pdf output warning

I have just begun using Preps in pdf to pdf jobs doing output to pdf file for imaging offsite. For many years I have used Preps in Mixed Files mode for onsite and offsite output with great success.

Initially I am continuing to use my old templates with postscript marks, such as color bars. When imposing a pdf file with black + spot color, I am relying on Preps to map the SSiCustom Color of the color bar to the spot color of the pdf source file.

The output pdf files are done one at a time as single files for each signature for imaging offsite. The first signature outputs without any warnings. But the second and subsequent signatures, or a second output of the first signature, give this warning:

"The selected output type does not support currently disabled separations. All separations will print. Do you want to continue the print operation?"

Continuing produces a pdf which images correctly offsite. Saving and reopening the job does NOT return the original behavior for the first signature, but that second pdf for the first signature works equally well as the original.

As an output device in the print dialog I have used the ssicolor ppd with the connection to the "Local Host printer", as well as the Adobepdf8 printer.

In sum, the warning seems harmless, but why am I getting it? And why only on the first output of the first signature? A new test job saved without output will still behave as described after the first output.

Anyone have ideas about this?

Thanks,

Al Ferrari
