Digital Print and Indigo 1000

We have the opportunity to get an HP Indigo 1000 for next to nothing. Am interested if anyone is using Digital Print with an Indigo 1000, or if it is even possible.

And what about consumables & maintenance? Parts? Much as I love our 5000, it takes a fair amount of upkeep & you're tied to HP for supplies and repairs.
