View Full Version : Tiff/it 1bit

We recently bought an Epson 9800 and we are using PSM8. My question is, is there a way to get tiff-it of 1bit out of PSM8. I can get the tiff/it-P1 but this creates 3 files were all the CMYK information is in there. I need to create a file for each color, a separation of the job.

Hello there

Why 1 bit? (No way to create 1 bit tiffs from PSM)
Combine the job and send to the Epson.

I need to get the separation out of the PSM, because is the only way I have to make the proof with the roseta. I want to make the proof with the same files that I make the film and also make the roseta in the proof.

Hello Again.

PSM does not create 1 bit tiffs.

But ,even if it could, since the Epson resolution is (max)
1440 x 720 while the Dolev is 2540 or 2400
You'll not get a dot by dot representation of the film
on the Epson.

There is a utility called tiff/it2scitex that will make an assignment file off of the fp file that psm makes (it doesn't always work with hc files). We use this along with the 3 tiff/it files to make epsons thru ORIS software, which controls our epsons. If you drive your epson directly from the psm, though, you don't need to print directly from the tiff/it, though, as the .job you created the tiff/it from is the same thing. We have never had a change from .job to tiff/it ever.
