Just curious if anyone out there has had this similar issue. We printed a job and had an issue with the file/proofing.

Example of Job:
Illustrator files placed in Indesign. 2 pages. The job is process and there is a orange strip at the bottom of the page. Visually in Indesign the two pages look different. 1 orange strip looks darker than the other. Send to PS, refine PS and proof job. Proofs look visually different. Checking the Prinergy PDF and the values are equal. Job went to plates and printed the same (the lighter colored proof). My first thought was color profiling, but my tests could not recreate the same result. All my trendsetter proofs matched the lighter colored proof.

I've had a case when the Color settings in Indesgn have altered the make of a color, but that was for an entire job. Never has 1 page differed from the other.

Thanks for any suggestions...

is the orange a cmyk build or is it a spot color?

Did you write PostScript out of ID or export PDF? If the latter, what PDF export settings did you use?
