Default Handling RGB

Does anyone know if there is a way to analyze a pdf with untagged RGB images in order to find out which RGB profile to tag the images with?

Also, how do you handle RGB images, do you override tagged profiles or do you use the tagged profiles and convert from them or don't you accept RGB at all?

We prefer that all our files either be CMYK or spot. But in the real world you never get all files CMYK. I myself will convert the images to CMYK or if the PDF is complex I will refine the file as CMYK in Prinergy.

We also use colorflow and device links to convert different RGB profiles on the refine stage. But sometimes that isn't always perfect so we end up doing it in photoshop if the results are not adequate. If we had more than 4 pages and a pdf only and the client didn't like our output we would ask for natives or a new file converted correctly.
